They encouraged me to take internal trainings, and now I am involved in project management tasks to understand how project numbers and budgets come together” When Anja thinks about her future, she doesn’t see a straight upward path. Instead, she sees different opportunities that match both her personality and her expertise: “I used to think I wanted to be an expert, but after trying some project management, I find that interesting too.” We’re excited to see what Anja chooses as her next step in her career. Women currently make up only 27–29% of the global tech workforce, even though they represent nearly half of the overall workforce. At NNIT, women make up around 37% of our workforce. That’s better than the industry average, but we believe there is still more progress to be made. So we asked some of our female colleagues: What message would you give to women considering a career in IT consulting?
