From manual, paper-based batch documentation to a fully digitized, real-time operational environment.

Press release -

Eirgen and NNIT collaborate on digital manufacturing transformation

NNIT is pleased to announce its role as a strategic implementation partner for Eirgen Pharma’s new Electronic Batch Record (EBR) system, internally referred to as Project Elevate. This initiative is a cornerstone of Eirgen’s digital transformation strategy and marks a decisive shift away from manual, paper-based batch documentation toward a fully digitized, real-time operational environment. The system is set to go live in Q4 2025.

Project Elevate is built on Tulip’s platform, with NNIT leading the implementation, integration, and validation efforts. NNIT is leveraging its deep expertise in life sciences and regulated manufacturing environments to ensure the solution meets the highest standards of data integrity, compliance, and operational performance.

“Our new EBR system will be a transformative asset for our manufacturing processes. It directly contributes to enhancing data integrity, streamlining our operations across the board, and elevating our compliance framework. It also brings a fantastic environmental and sustainable aspect to what we do, by ensuring our new facility is on its way to being a paperless building. This is a significant step forward in our digital infrastructure and operational excellence,” says Dan Delaney, Head of Operations, Eirgen Pharma.

Transforming manufacturing through digitization

The new EBR system will modernize how Eirgen collects, records, and analyzes manufacturing data. By digitizing operator workflows, automating data collection, and embedding quality checks throughout the process, the system will provide:

  • Enhanced batch traceability with real-time insights into each step of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished product
  • Streamlined review processes through “review by exception” functionality, significantly accelerating batch release times
  • Improved compliance and data integrity, thanks to system-embedded procedural guidance, automated checks, and reduced risk of human error
  • A robust, digital audit trail that meets the demanding standards of regulatory authorities

NNIT’s role includes ensuring seamless integration with Eirgen’s existing infrastructure, validating the system to meet stringent regulatory standards, and supporting user training and change management as the company transitions to a digital-first manufacturing environment.

“At NNIT, we’re proud to support Eirgen in overcoming the challenges of paper-based manufacturing by delivering a digital solution that enhances compliance, accelerates batch release, and provides real-time production insights. With Project Elevate, we’re helping Eirgen build a future-proof foundation for operational excellence and sustainability. It’s a true collaboration, and we’re excited to contribute to Eirgen’s digital journey,” Marco Glauner, VP for Digital Manufacturing at NNIT.

Beyond improving operational efficiency, a central objective of Project Elevate is sustainability. The system will enable Eirgen’s new facility to operate as a completely paperless building which is a significant achievement in an industry traditionally reliant on physical documentation.

As the pharmaceutical industry continues to adopt digital technologies to boost agility, transparency, and regulatory readiness, projects like Elevate demonstrate the tangible value of digital transformation. NNIT is proud to support Eirgen’s vision and to play a leading role in implementing intelligent, sustainable systems that redefine pharmaceutical manufacturing.
