NNIT wins outsourcing contract with the Nordic Regional Security Coordinator to deliver critical IT operation services
NNIT has won a five-year contract to deliver a multitude of IT services, including operations, monitoring and cloud services to the Nordic Regional Security Coordinator (RSC). The value of the contract is expected to represent a low triple-digit DKK million amount – with the possibility of a three-year extension (1+1+1). The contract will commence in January 2022.
The Nordic Regional Security Coordinator is a joint office for the four electricity Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in the Nordic region: Energinet, Statnett, Svenska Kraftnät and Fingrid. The Nordic RSC coordinates the overall Nordic electricity system by supporting the national TSOs in optimizing efficiency and maintaining the operational security of the electricity power systems across Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
CIO at Nordic RSC, Bjarne Dahl comments:
“With this agreement, we will ensure continued stable and scalable IT operations and development to support our further journey for the green transition in the Nordic region for the benefit of society. We are eagerly looking forward to starting the collaboration with NNIT and benefiting from their experience from other similar customers.”
The energy sector in Europe is undergoing a dramatic transition towards the fully carbon neutral, sustainable energy system. The Nordic countries have set particularly stretching targets for the transition during this decade. Nordic RSC is an important contributor to the green transition as the provider of regional electricity power system planning data and security analysis to support the national transmission system operators to ensure the efficient operation of the Nordic Power System and high security of power supply at any time.
Senior Vice President of Hybrid Cloud Solutions at NNIT, Niels Svenningsen comments:
“We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this contract, which cements NNIT as an important supplier of critical infrastructure. While it represents great business value to NNIT, we also greatly value the opportunity to contribute to society; and we feel the high demands for quality, compliance and security are fully aligned with NNIT’s DNA and core capabilities.”
